This time last year we had our wonderful Quays Culture Summer Festival where thousands of you go to enjoy the Arboria Luminarium by Architects of Air , take part in circus skills with Skylight Circus Arts, delight in beautiful dancing by Igor and Moreno and marvel at Chris Bullzini’s high wire act. Whilst it’s really sad that we can’t be doing something together this summer, we are making plans for this Christmas and also for 2021. You’ll be the first to know when we have our exciting project to announce!
In the meantime, enjoy these pics from last year and please share any of your photos on the social media channels using #QuaysCulture – let’s celebrate the good times and look forward to when we can safely enjoy art together again!
P.S: Here’s some great FREE things to do for families in Greater Manchester!
Manchester Literature Festival’s Little Reads – very gentle stories and songs for little ones, highly recommend.
Our pals at Z-arts have put lots of ace activities online, you don’t need any fancy crafting gear, this is all made out of stuff lying around the house! Don’t throw away any toilet roll tubes!
Brilliant Clare at The Lowry has made an excellent short movement workshop for under 5s, get involved yourself and enjoy rolling around the room!
The Love Lowry blog has lots of great content for everyone, including a roundup of our winter festival Lightwaves in 2018.
P.P.S: We adore this light work from Finnish light artist Kari Kola – where he illuminated the whole of a mountain side in Connemara for Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture. Check out this short video, it’s really beautiful.
