Mystery Bird

As we are all aware – 2020 and COVID19 has culminated in the cancellation of the majority of events – across the world.  Social distancing restrictions and the up and down of local lockdowns means it is not viable to present Lightwaves in its usual guise this winter.

However, we at Quays Culture have been spending our time creating a brand new piece of work for Greater Manchester residents. We can’t give the game away completely but we hope to bring our travelling installation, Mystery Bird, to chosen streets across the boroughs come mid December. We are so excited to be bringing this piece to life with the help of a brilliant creative team. Extraordinary paper artist Helen Musselwhite, incredible vocal artist Jason Singh, the brilliant projection team, Illuminos, excellent local fabricators M3 Industries and our digital expert Jack Hardiker – have combined their skills to create this piece born in response to the events of 2020.

Please follow all our socials for more info and behind the scenes action over the next few weeks.

With thanks to – GMCA, ACE, SCPP, The Lowry, Autumncare and the RSPB.
